On the morning of January 15, 2024, the final teaching seminar of the Chinese Language Teaching and Research Office of SIEC (School of International Education and Cooperation) from 2023 to 2024 was held in the conference room on the 12th floor of Library Building. The seminar was chaired by Xiao Fengling, the Dean of SIEC, and all teachers from the Chinese Language Teaching and Research Office attended.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, the Secretary of the Teaching and Research Office, Duan Shaoqi, reported on the various tasks of this semester, mainly including:

13 teachers completing 640 hours of Chinese language teaching in 14 courses;

Published 2 educational reform articles and establish 1 comprehensive Chinese question bank;

Participated in the training of teachers for the series of textbooks "Understanding Contemporary China" in national higher education institutions and the virtual teaching and research room activity of "Advanced Chinese" in understanding contemporary China;

Organized one HSK training course and host one HSK exam.

 

Subsequently, the teachers had a thorough exchange on the teaching situation of this semester, and everyone agreed that they had achieved certain results in their teaching work. However, there were also some problems and shortcomings. In response to these problems and shortcomings, the teachers actively expressed their opinions and suggestions, and jointly discussed solutions.


Finally, Xiao Fengling summarized the meeting, affirmed the outstanding performance of all teachers in this semester's teaching work, and put forward earnest hopes for the work of the teaching and research office in the new semester. She emphasized that teachers should self check course materials, fill in any gaps, and the teaching and research department should organize and archive them on time;

The head of the teaching team should regularly organize collective lesson preparation, improve course design, and make sufficient preparations for teaching in the new semester;

Young teachers should "travel out", actively participate in teaching competitions, learn teaching experience, and improve teaching abilities;

At the same time, it is necessary to further increase the publicity efforts of our school's HSK examination points and broaden the source of candidates.
