On the afternoon of February 22, the Propaganda Department of the school's Party Committee and the School of International Education and Exchange joined activities with the Gaoping District Committee Propaganda Department to organize international students to carry out the "First Lesson of the Year of the Tiger in the Lunar Calendar" to learn about the quintessence of Chinese calligraphy and Chinese painting. Long Yingxin, director of Gaoping District Art Museum, introduced the evolution of Chinese characters and the use of brushes to the international students; Ren Guojun, director of Chen Zhongshu, introduced the landscape, animal painting, and color skills to the students.

Writing, dipping in ink... Under the patient guidance of the two teachers, the international students copied calligraphy and Chinese paintings against the samples. The international students from 14 countries of Asian and African expressed that they particularly like Chinese calligraphy and Chinese paintings. In the course, students felt the breadth and depth of Chinese culture. BoHan from Bangladesh, is an international student at the School of International Education and Exchange. "Although I am not very proficient in Chinese calligraphy and Chinese painting, I don't know much about it. But my classmates and I will use our spare time to practice, and strive to be able to write satisfactory calligraphy before graduation, and independently complete a Chinese ink painting." BoHan said excitedly, the feeling that Chinese traditional painting can paint many colors with only one color, which is very magical.

The successful holding of this event not only allowed the international students to learn Chinese traditional painting and calligraphy art and feel the charm of Chinese excellent traditional culture, but also enhanced their love and recognition of Chinese excellent traditional culture. In the future, the school will further build a platform to learn Chinese excellent traditional culture, tell Chinese stories well, and spread Chinese culture.
