In order to develop and expand the profound connotation of the 24 solar terms and help international students deeply understand China's traditional culture, the SIEC specially held the first "24 solar terms" hand drawing activity. So that international students can draw the images of the 24 solar terms in their hearts, deepen their understanding of the laws of nature and appreciate the wisdom of the Chinese working people.

  From January to May, 2021, the SIEC successively held “24 solar terms” cultural lectures and organized students to learn relevant hand-painted books. Finally, the international students carefully drew pictures according to the different landscape and folk customs in the “24 solar terms”. The types of hand-painted works are rich, with their own characteristics and creativity. The products were displayed in Library Building and Qianxihe Canteen, which attracted many Chinese students and teachers to praise and vote. 

  Through this activity, international students learned that the "24 solar terms" is not only the law of farming season summarized by the ancient Chinese in the practice of agricultural production, but also China's unique calendar. At the same time, it also includes festival culture, production ceremony and folk customs closely related to festivals. We hope that international students can enjoy the wisdom of ancient Chinese people and the awe of nature.
